The greatest gift ever given was Jesus Christ. God sent His only Son to suffer, bleed and die on a cruel cross for guilty sinners like us. Jesus willingly laid down His life. He was obedient unto death, even death on the cross. Jesus, the sinless Son of God took the punishment that you and I deserve. Friday night we were blessed to have more than one music man. In fact, we ended up with three before the night was over. I was the only odd man out. I don’t play any instruments and I can’t carry a tune, but I make a joyful noise unto the Lord. Friday night we witnessed several people that are storing up more wrath against the day of wrath (Romans 2:5). Aaron, Serenity, Elise, Desi and I sang a couple of hymns to start the night. I was the first one downtown, so I handed out tracts until everyone else got there. I gave a tract to a guy that walked by and he promptly walked over to the trash can and threw it in. Love Not Hate

Love not hate. Students I come here and share the Gospel with you every week out of love not hate. I do not hate you. If I hated you, I would not spend my lunch hour hear pleading with you to come to Jesus Christ. If I hated you, I wouldn’t care if you died in your sins and you went on to Hell. But I do not hate you. I lift my voice up so you can hear me from several directions as you are coming and going. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God so my great desire is for you to hear God’s truth, that He will convict you over your sins and that the Lord would grant you eternal life.  [Read more…]

On Wednesday I witnessed at MSU I brought a message called Love Not Hate. The main thing I tried to get across to the students was that I don’t hate them. I share the Gospel with them out of love. If I hated them, I wouldn’t go to the campus and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with them. But I love God and love others, so I do share the glorious Gospel with them.  [Read more…]

Kentucky Derby Outreach 2017

Street Evangelists Really Are Crazy

While driving eight hours to the Kentucky Derby Outreach last Thursday (including an extra hour out of the way to avoid the local flooding) I had a lot of time to think about the outreach. I thought about the long drive to the camp and I was looking forward to fellowshipping with the other 24 evangelists from around the country and the teaching that night from Dr. Gentry from Southern Seminary. But I also couldn’t help but think about how long the drive was to Louisville, how the weather forecast was calling for rain both Friday and Saturday and remembering all the mockers and scoffers from The Derby the last few years and I realized that I really am crazy and all street evangelists really are crazy.  [Read more…]
