Sexually Immoral America

It’s true that many of us are still upset over the abominable Supreme Court Ruling a few months ago. We are also upset that Kim Davis sits in jail because she refuses to issue a marriage license to same sex couples because she believes God; because she believes in the biblical definition of marriage which is between a man and a woman. Many of us are upset with the leader of our country who continually keeps leading us astray. But we can survive a wicked leader. We can survive an evil Supreme Court that doesn’t have a single Christian on the bench. We can survive wicked judges across our land. 

But we cannot survive as a sexually immoral nation and make no mistake our once great nation is now flagrantly sexually immoral. Yes same sex marriage is an oxymoron. God ordained marriage. God instituted marriage. God created marriage and Jesus Himself said from the beginning God made them male and female (Mark 10:6). Biblical marriage can only be between a man and a woman. I believe this abomination is second only to the really heinous and reprehensible act of child sacrifice, more commonly called abortion.

Without a doubt, murdering a child in the womb is abominable to God. Homosexuality, transgenderism, pansexualism, polygamy are also abominations. But do you realize that adultery is also an abomination to God? (Leviticus 18:20; 18:29) Adultery is repugnant to our Creator God and recently several articles have stated that the wicked adultery website Ashley Madison had account holders in every zip code in America except for three zip codes. Folks, if this statistic is anywhere near accurate, we have a much bigger problem than a homosexual problem in our country. We have an all out sexual immorality problem in America.

On top of these statistics our nation has a horrific pornography problem. Porn is a 14 billion dollar a year industry. Then you have people like the former Subway spokesman Jared Fogle who admitted to having sex with underage girls. Our country is depraved; it is nauseating. We now live in an unimaginable, despicable sexually immoral America and there doesn’t seem to be any signs of this turning around.

You don’t think that we deserve God’s judgment? We most certainly do. God, in His great patience allowed the Israelites to remain in bondage in Egypt for 215 years (430 years from the promise to Abraham and when Ishmael first persecuted Isaac). God did this to allow the Amorites time for their iniquity to be full (Genesis 15:16).

America has been a nation for 239 years. Will God give us another 200 years to repent before He pours His wrath out upon us? We don’t deserve it. We don’t deserve His mercy and His grace. We actually deserve His wrath and I don’t think our nation can survive another 200 years at our lightening speed of wickedness and debauchery. We will totally self-destruct before then unless God mercifully intervenes.

Oh, I pray that God will send His Holy Spirit upon us and draw us back to Himself. I pray that God will send revival to our nation one more time like He has done in the past. But we have no hope without Jesus. Jesus Christ is the only hope of our nation. We could talk the rest of the night about the woes of America, but what people really need to hear is hope. People need to hear about salvation that is found in Christ alone.

Please listen to these words of Paul found in Acts 26:9-23: I verily thought with myself, that I ought to do many things contrary to the name of Jesus of Nazareth. Which thing I also did in Jerusalem: and many of the saints did I shut up in prison, having received authority from the chief priests; and when they were put to death, I gave my voice against them.

And I punished them oft in every synagogue, and compelled them to blaspheme; and being exceedingly mad against them, I persecuted them even unto strange cities. Whereupon as I went to Damascus with authority and commission from the chief priests, At midday, O king, I saw in the way a light from heaven, above the brightness of the sun, shining round about me and them which journeyed with me.

And when we were all fallen to the earth, I heard a voice speaking unto me, and saying in the Hebrew tongue, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks. And I said, Who art thou, Lord? And he said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest.

But rise, and stand upon thy feet: for I have appeared unto thee for this purpose, to make thee a minister and a witness both of these things which thou hast seen, and of those things in the which I will appear unto thee; Delivering thee from the people, and from the Gentiles, unto whom now I send thee,

To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me. Whereupon, O king Agrippa, I was not disobedient unto the heavenly vision: But shewed first unto them of Damascus, and at Jerusalem, and throughout all the coasts of Judaea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, and do works meet for repentance.

For these causes the Jews caught me in the temple, and went about to kill me. Having therefore obtained help of God, I continue unto this day, witnessing both to small and great, saying none other things than those which the prophets and Moses did say should come: That Christ should suffer, and that he should be the first that should rise from the dead, and should shew light unto the people, and to the Gentiles.

The apostle Paul tells us his testimony in these verses. He points out that he also did “many things contrary to the name of Jesus of Nazareth.” Does that describe you tonight? Do you do many things contrary to Jesus? Do you mock Him? Do you scoff Him? Are you spitting on Him? Are you driving the nails in His hands and feet? Are you violently lashing that cruel whip across His back? Are you living contrary to Jesus tonight through your sinning, through your rebellion against God? Are you living contrary to Jesus tonight?

If you have never encountered the living Christ, then you are living contrary to Jesus. You are opposing Him. Jesus says that you are either for Him or against Him. 1 John 2:15 says: Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. Who or what do you love tonight? What do you spend your time, money and talents on? Who or what do you really love?

You see when Paul encountered the risen Lord Jesus, he was a changed man. He spent the rest of his life telling others about Jesus. He believed that Jesus suffered and died for his sins. Paul believed himself to be a wicked sinner and that Jesus was the only Savior. Paul believed that God poured His wrath out upon His only begotten Son in order take away the sins of those who repent and believe in Jesus. Paul believed that Jesus was beaten unmercifully and that He hung on that cruel cross for six long grueling hours. Paul believed that Jesus died there, was buried and rose again from the grave on the third day. Paul believed in Jesus because he met our Lord and Savior on the road to Damascus.

Have you ever met Jesus? Have you ever admitted that you are a sinner and that He is the only Savior? Have you ever acknowledged that Jesus took the punishment that you deserve? Have you ever cried out for God to have mercy on your very soul? Have you ever repented by turning away from your sins and put your trust in Jesus? Are you saved? Have you surrendered your life to Jesus Christ?

If not, then you are living your life with no hope; with no eternal hope. If this describes you tonight, turn from your sins and turn to Jesus. Be saved tonight. Receive everlasting life. Repent and believe the Gospel. Jesus Christ is the only way of salvation. Trust Jesus tonight. There is blessed hope in salvation and salvation is only from the Lord.

Flee from immorality. Flee from sexual immorality. Sin is only pleasurable for a season. Eternity is forever. Turn to Jesus. Turn from sin and turn to Jesus. You can be saved tonight. You can find hope tonight. Now, Lord, what do I wait for? My hope is in You (Psalm 39:7 HCSB).

Behold, the eye of the Lord is upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in his mercy; To deliver their soul from death, and to keep them alive in famine (Psalm 33:18-19). Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God (Romans 5:1-2).

 Jesus Christ is my only hope tonight. He is your only hope tonight. Trust in the Lord. Jesus saves. Romans 10:9-13: That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Call upon Jesus tonight and be saved.
