Will You Split Hell Wide Open?
Will you split Hell wide open after you die? I know this isn’t a subtle message tonight, but I want you to really think about where you will spend eternity. I want you to think about where your spirit will go the second after you die. Will you go to Heaven? Or will you split Hell wide open?
There’s nothing more important than your eternal destination. It will either be Heaven or Hell. Your unbelief in God will not stop you from going to Hell. Your unbelief in Hell will not stop you from going there. What do you have to do to go to Hell after you die? Absolutely nothing! You don’t have to change one thing. You don’t have to work at it all. Just continue down the broad road to destruction that you are walking on and you will go to Hell after you die. You will split Hell wide open someday.
We are all born with a sinful nature. We are all rebellious against the great God of Heaven and earth. We have all gone astray. None of us are righteous, no not a single one of us. We are dirty rotten sinners. If you die in your sins, if you die as a wretched sinner, you will split Hell wide open after you die. Is this you tonight? Are you still lord of your life? Are you still your own boss? Do you live for yourself? Are you a selfish person?
Do you just do what you want to do? Do you live to please yourself? Are you still spiritually dead in your trespasses and sins? If so, then you will split Hell wide open after you die. Listen to Isaiah 5:11-15: Woe unto them that rise up early in the morning, that they may follow strong drink; that continue until night, till wine inflame them!
And the harp, and the viol, the tabret, and pipe, and wine, are in their feasts: but they regard not the work of the Lord, neither consider the operation of his hands. Therefore my people are gone into captivity, because they have no knowledge: and their honourable men are famished, and their multitude dried up with thirst. Therefore hell hath enlarged herself, and opened her mouth without measure: and their glory, and their multitude, and their pomp, and he that rejoiceth, shall descend into it. And the mean man shall be brought down, and the mighty man shall be humbled, and the eyes of the lofty shall be humbled.
Verse 11 starts off against alcohol. Are you out here tonight to get drunk? Are you out here for other reasons? Why did you come downtown tonight? What are you seeking? What are you hoping to find? These verses are talking about the fate that awaits all unrepentant sinners. No sin, no pleasure of the flesh is worth spending eternity in the torments of Hell.
Verse 13 is talking about when the Israelites went into captivity when the Babylonians defeated them. Nebuchadnezzar’s army defeated Israel’s army and he bound most of the Israelites up and forced them to leave their land. They were carried away in bondage. Are you in bondage tonight? What sin has control of your life? What sin do you find so tempting, so exciting, that you just aren’t willing to give it up?
Do not be deceived tonight. You serve someone. You either serve Jesus Christ our Lord or you serve sin. You either serve Jesus or you serve Satan. Who are you serving tonight? If Jesus Christ is not your Lord and Savior, then you are serving sin. Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord. Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof (Romans 6:11-12).
Serving Satan and Sin
Jesus said in John 8:34-36: Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin. And the servant abideth not in the house for ever: but the Son abideth ever. If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed. Are you free from your bondage to sin tonight or are you still a slave to sin? If you have never been born again, then you are still in bondage to sin.
Not only are you in bondage to sin, but Satan also has you bound tonight, if Jesus is not your Master. Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness? (Romans 6:16).
Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me. Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word. Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it (John 8:42-44).
This is very simple tonight. There are no gray areas. Many people like to think that you can believe what you want to believe and it doesn’t matter. Everybody just figures out what is right for them and we all just get along. But that’s not the way it is. North Carolina and Mississippi both passed legislation that basically said biological males have to use the men’s restrooms and biological females have to use the women’s restrooms. But all of a sudden you believe what you want to believe and I believe what I want to believe doesn’t work. Liberals want to force the gay/transgender agenda on everyone else. Bruce Springsteen and Bryan Adams have jumped into this fray. They love their sins and they love others who are caught up in their sins (Romans 1:32). Society is pretty much now saying you can believe what you want to believe as long as your belief isn’t in the God of the Bible. As long as it isn’t Christian.
I point this out, because lost people are a slave to their sins and they are slaves to Satan. The devil is never satisfied. He wants more and more. He wants humanity farther and farther away from God. He never says this is enough sin for you. If you drink a six pack of beer at night, he wants you to drink a twelve pack. If you drink a 12 pack, he wants you to drink a case. Enough is never enough. He wants you to continue in your sins and debauchery until you die in your sins.
Satan has you bound to himself and bound to sin and he’s loving every minute of it. He is a murderer. He is a liar and a thief and he will rob you of everlasting life, if you continue serving him and serving your sins.
Isaiah 5:14 warns you of the fate that awaits you if you continue serving the pleasures of the flesh and Satan: Therefore hell hath enlarged herself, and opened her mouth without measure: and their glory, and their multitude, and their pomp, and he that rejoiceth, shall descend into it. Hell hath enlarged herself to swallow you up, if you die as an unrepentant sinner. If you die in your sins. You will descend into Hell after you die, if you do not turn from your sins and turn to Jesus. You will split Hell wide open after you die, if you continue on the broad road to destruction.
Don’t do it. Don’t continue serving sin. Don’t continue chasing the temporary pleasures of the flesh. Yes, the Bible says that sin is pleasurable for a season. But again, Satan never lets up. He continues enticing you farther and farther into your sins. All of a sudden your sin isn’t so pleasurable any more. You may think sexual immorality is fun but what about when you catch herpes or AIDS or some other sexually transmitted disease?
You catch a deadly disease from your sexual indiscretions and all of a sudden that sin that you have been in bondage to isn’t quite so fun. What about those who are caught in adultery and their marriage dissolve? All of a sudden that fling isn’t quite so enticing. But it’s too late. By the time you realize that your sin has taken you too far, it’s too late. The damage is done. Your life is already endangered or your marriage is already ruined.
Serving sin and serving Satan will always end badly. Oh you may get away with your sins for a while, but make no mistake; your sin will find you out. Above all, God will not be mocked. You will have Hell to pay, if you continue living in sin and continue rejecting Jesus Christ – the King of kings and the Lord of lords. Turn from your sins and turn to Jesus. Repent and believe on the Lord Jesus. Surrender your life to Him.
You do not have to split Hell wide open after you die. You can be saved. You can be saved from eternal damnation. You can be saved from the penalty of your sins. You can be cleansed. Your sins can be forgiven. Come to Jesus and be saved. Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered. Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin (Romans 4:7-8).
Jesus saved 2,000 years ago and He still saves today. Turn from your sins and turn to Jesus. Surrender your life completely to Him. Don’t hold on to any rebellion against God. Confess and forsake your sins. Believe on the Lord Jesus and receive everlasting life.
And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.
And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful. And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely. He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.
Do not split Hell wide open after you die. Turn from your sins and turn to the risen Lord. Spend eternity with Jesus. If you come to Him, He will in no wise cast you out. All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out (John 6:37). Come to Jesus and be saved. Jesus said the time is fulfilled and the kingdom of God is at hand, repent and believe the Gospel. Do this today and be saved.
